Update: Looks like Air Canada Vacations has added another one of those crazy cheap flights to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands for $119 roundtrip after taxes. Follow the instructions below but use March 30 to April 7 as your travel dates.

There are flights in February from Syracuse (SYR) to Belize (BZE) that are perhaps cheap enough to warrant the drive from Ottawa. It's nearly 45% cheaper than flying from YOW.

There's a huge fare war to Amsterdam (AMS) going on at the moment. It's really rare to see the major airlines drop a price to Europe like this from Ottawa over such a large date range.

Update @ 5:23 PM : Delta seems to have caught on and the price is now back up unfortunately. There were reports that the reverse was working for a while as well (out of a Canadian city, back into a U.S. city). Could still be worth trying.

Update: Sep 8 - Flights from Ottawa to Denver seem to be experiencing a similar price drop on Delta, for anyone that likes to ski, you seem to have your choice of dates.

Delta, United and Continental just dumped the price of their flights to Taipei, Taiwan in a serious way. They're down to $819 CDN roundtrip after tax at the moment, about 50% cheaper than the next cheapest airlines!
