Flair Air has added some new routes to their schedule, with introductory prices from Ottawa to Vancouver or Abbotsford, BC for between $120 and $240 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are non-stop both ways.
Ottawa to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, or Halifax is also available for a similar price.
$99 to $120 roundtrip is the base price, and includes *only* a personal item. Low cost carriers charge extra for *everything*.
$220 to $240 roundtrip is the price with carry-on or a checked bag included, for a more fair comparison against other airlines.
Vice-versa flights (Calgary or Vancouver to Ottawa) are also available for a similar roundtrip price.
Update: Air Canada and Westjet have responded by dropping their fares from Ottawa to Vancouver down to $216 CAD roundtrip (slightly cheaper than Flair's fares, after factoring in luggage). Ottawa to Calgary is $229 roundtrip. Ottawa to Edmonton or Halifax is just $188 CAD roundtrip. Try starting with a Google Flights search like this one: Google Flights: Ottawa to Edmonton.
