Flair Air continues with their aggressive expansion from Canadian cities this time with new nonstop flights from Ottawa (YOW) to the U.S.
From Ottawa (YOW), the 3 new destinations for Flair are:
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FLL)
Orlando Sanford, Florida (SFB)
Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS)
Thoughts
Ottawa to Las Vegas is probably the standout here. These will be the only nonstop (direct) flights from Ottawa to Las Vegas.
Air Canada and WestJet have nonstop flights scheduled from Ottawa to Florida. They are currently in the mid $500s roundtrip.
It will be interesting to see if Air Canada and WestJet match Flair's prices. They usually do on most routes.
Secondary airports
- Flair is flying into Orlando Sanford (SFB). This is about a half hour north of the more common Orlando (MCO) airport. It takes about 20 minutes longer to get to Disney World from SFB.
Introductory prices
$218 roundtrip is the base price, and includes *only* a personal item. Flair is an ultra low cost carrier that charges extra for *everything*.
$343 roundtrip is the price with carry-on or a checked bag included, for a more fair comparison against other airlines.
Vice-versa flights (U.S. airport to Ottawa) are also available for a similar roundtrip price.
